A Touch of the Fiber Arts Make and Take Tours

While our tours are educational and hands on, some folks would like a little more…

If you have a group of 6 or more that wish to book a private 1 – 3 hour fiber arts class with your tour we are now offering three options. You may also choose to add a farm to table lunch to the class for an additional fee.

Class Offering # 1
Make your own bird nesting ball
I supply everything you need and walk you through making your own bird nesting balls, including hammering a decorative copper hanger and accenting it with beads and a pewter charm.  $30 each, takes about 1 hour to make. Lunch is not included, but is offered for an extra fee – see below. (photo coming soon)

What are bird nesting balls?

The birds love soft fiber to line their nests both for hatching their young. Some birds that like to overwinter in cooler climates will even use it when they are not brooding young. They will pull the fiber out of the nesting ball, little bits at a time. it usually take a year or two for it to be fully emptied. The great thing is they can be refilled as needed!

A Touch of Fiber, Make and Take Tour Requirements.

~A $100 deposit is required to hold the date for the class.  If for any reason we personally need to cancel the class your deposit will be returned.

~Two weeks prior to the class the number of students must be confirmed.  This assures us time to gather enough supplies for all students.

~The confirmed number of students is the number that will be paid at class time, regardless of whether the number participating is lower then the confirmation.

~We have an age requirement for the classes.
(We do not host children’s birthday parties. If children are taking the class, there must be a ratio of 3 to 1 children to adults. Children under the age of 8 are too young to take these classes)

~6 is the minimum number of students to book a ‘make and take tour’ .
~Maximum can be discussed based on time of year and other factors.
