CLASS DESCRIPTION: Learn to use a combination of wet felting and needle felting techniques to create a wall hanging. We will start by laying out the base or background of the wall hanging, using lots of texture from mohair curls and yarns. We will then needle felt a focal point (bird, or other item) and wet felt it all together. Once it is wet felted and secure we will come back with the needles and add more details.

The wet felted background lends it self to being organic and more impressionistic, while adding a needle felted focal brings out some detail.

Suri alpaca or mohair locks will add some fun texture to the bottom of your wall hanging. We will also discus ways to hang/display your finished piece.
Bring a couple of photographs to use as reference for your painting. You can combine many different ideas together. If you like the background colors of one photo and the focal object on another, we will learn to combine the two.
All materials included. We begin the morning with homemade sweet breads, coffee or tea. lunch is a warm, yummy, farm to table affair!

Holly is the owner of Lasso the Moon Alpaca Farm, Lardworks Studio Inc and Laces of Lore Fiber Art. Holly has been teaching fiber art on the farm for over 18 years.

Class Times: 10:00 am – 3:30/5:00 pm (pending students)

Class Fee: $120 includes all materials and a Farm to table style lunch. A $25 deposit is required to register. If for any reason I have to cancel the class, you may use the deposit on another class, or we will reimburse you the deposit.
